We are seeking a highly skilled Composite Technician I to join our team at Roush. As a Composite Technician I, you will play a critical role in the production of composite parts, working closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure the highest quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mold Preparation: Prepare molds for composite part production, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Prepreg and Wet Layup: Apply prepreg materials and perform wet layup operations to create composite parts.
- Curing and Demolding: Cure composite parts in autoclaves and ovens, and demold them to ensure proper quality.
- Quality Control: Inspect demolded parts for quality and identify any defects.
- Documentation: Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, and documents to complete work assignments.
- Measurement and Calculation: Use shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.
- Verification: Verify work performed is per work instruction and meets process and/or engineering specification.
- Product Movement: Routinely move product within the manufacturing work area.
- Process Support: Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process.
- Cleanliness: Daily cleaning of cleanroom area.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: No previous experience required.
- Skills: Ability to use hand tools such as grinders, files, and Dremel's.
- Work Environment: Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Independence: Ability to follow work instructions and work independently.
- Software Skills: Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
- Attendance: Ability to have excellent attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tool Skills: Demonstrated skill with small hand tools (drills, sanders, grinders).
- Quality Standards: Ability to meet quality standards.
