Senior Manufacturing Engineer

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The primary aim of this position is to delineate the responsibilities and expectations of a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role serves as a critical link between Engineering and Operations, delivering engineering assistance by diagnosing manufacturing processes in machining and Cold Heading, and implementing prompt solutions to sustain production flow. Additionally, the engineer will oversee existing methods, troubleshoot new equipment, and formulate procedures to guarantee overall system efficiency.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate ongoing communication between Engineering and Operations.
- Assist Operations by supplying technical support and engineering data.
- Lead and support the department by offering insights, data, and necessary information for part processing.
- Design and install machinery and equipment.
- Take the lead in creating detailed layouts for machinery and operational processes.
- Employ CAD Software, particularly AutoCAD, to design and amend blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Interpret blueprints to ensure precise production setups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and refine manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical challenges during production cycles.
- Conduct machine setups for production runs, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Apply GD&T principles to uphold product quality and compliance.
- Engage in PLC troubleshooting to identify and rectify issues.
- Possess experience with the PPAP process and the capability to develop and implement new methodologies.
- Experience in machining and/or cold heading processes is advantageous.
- Contribute to product design and development, offering valuable insights and recommendations.
- Maintain constant communication between Engineering and Operations.
- Support operations by providing technical assistance and engineering data.
- Assist engineering by delivering feedback, data, and other necessary information for part processing.
- Calculate production and material costs.
- Review and suggest continuous improvements to manufacturing processes and efficiencies.
- Identify the need for established work procedures and standardized methods.
- Document and communicate work procedures and standardized methods as required.
- Recognize training needs and communicate them to the appropriate manager.
- Perform all other assigned duties as directed.
- Utilize, understand, and execute LEAP/5S and HSE standards.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six (6) to ten (10) years of relevant experience in CNC machining and/or cold heading/manufacturing; eight (8) years or more if no degree in a related field.
Experience in setting up CNC machinery and writing programs.
Knowledge and understanding of quality measurement instruments and their application.
Experience with the operational aspects of business (quoting, customer relations, production planning, etc.).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
Proven negotiation and contracting capabilities.
Demonstrated effective organizational and analytical skills.
