Position Summary:

The Area Sales Executive (ASE) plays a pivotal role in driving regional growth objectives, focusing on revenue and gross profit contributions across various accounts. This position entails comprehensive oversight and performance management of a designated sales territory within alphabroder. The ASE will inspire the team to effectively market products and services through strategic management of sales incentive initiatives, mentorship, professional development, and performance tracking.

Additionally, the ASE will collaborate closely with the Regional Inside Sales Manager to foster synergy between outside and inside sales efforts.

This role encompasses all sales activities within the territory, including soft goods, hard goods, and specialized decoration services. The ASE will meet sales targets and gross profit goals through field monitoring, data-driven analysis, coaching, and motivating their team to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve and surpass defined revenue and gross profit targets for the region.
  • Formulate strategic plans to drive new business and meet sales objectives.
  • Evaluate employee and customer experiences to enhance overall satisfaction.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities, providing insights to leadership.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to customers via various communication methods.
  • Foster a culture of success that promotes growth and collaboration.
  • Manage the sales team through regular field visits and virtual communication.
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews with team members.
  • Oversee the regional sales budget, including samples and travel expenses.
  • Establish clear performance expectations for the sales team.
  • Recruit and develop sales personnel through both virtual and in-person training.
  • Design and implement training programs to support staff development.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and manage customer expectations.
  • Define and refine sales processes to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Establish systems to support the sales function's success.
  • Compile and analyze data related to customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create effective support and partner programs.
  • Maintain key customer relationships and facilitate cross-functional communication.
  • Travel for in-person meetings to strengthen key partnerships.
Participate in industry events and trade shows as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience in management or business development.
  • Preferred experience in wholesale or distribution, particularly in promotional products or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of alphabroder's value proposition and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong skills in planning, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to present and facilitate training in group settings.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various business functions.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex problems and situations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
