Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Environmental team, fostering a culture of compliance and excellence.
  • Oversee routine and non-routine compliance testing at manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental protocols and regulations.
  • Interpret and comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, engaging with agencies during inspections.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote waste reduction initiatives aimed at achieving zero waste to landfill.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Knauf Insulation Integrated Management System (KIMS) across U.S. facilities.
  • Prepare and disseminate timely environmental reports as required.
  • Provide sustainability guidance and training to all levels of staff to enhance performance and resolve issues.
  • Assist in environmental investigations and corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Promote health, safety, and sustainability initiatives at every opportunity.
  • Maintain compliance with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) records by reviewing new chemicals and ensuring accurate data management.
  • Conduct audits of Health, Environmental, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification as an Environmental or Safety Professional is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance within a manufacturing context.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with hazard communication and waste management regulations.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
