Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY


The Barback plays a crucial role in assisting the Food & Beverage Supervisors and/or Beverage Manager to ensure the efficient operation of service bars within the casino environment.

This position involves responsibilities such as setting up the bar area, maintaining cleanliness, managing waste disposal, restocking supplies, and facilitating the transfer of alcoholic beverages between storage areas and service points. The Barback is dedicated to providing high-quality beverage service to guests in a responsible and professional manner, while also performing additional tasks as required.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Barback is expected to embody and promote the culture of Caesars Entertainment, consistently demonstrating Excellent Service Standards.


Core Responsibilities Include:
- Safely and efficiently manage the transport of alcoholic beverages to and from various locations.

- Ensure the bar area is organized and clean, including regular trash removal and product replenishment.

- Uphold standards of sanitation and personal hygiene, while practicing safe beverage service techniques.

- Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemical handling. Maintain open communication with supervisors regarding departmental activities.

- Ensure that all bar equipment is in optimal working condition and that the work area is free from hazards. Promptly inform supervisors of any equipment issues.

- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and management in a fast-paced casino environment, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.



QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or GED is required.

- A minimum of one year of experience in the Beverage Service Industry, preferably as a Bar Porter, Bar Back, or in a similar role.

- The role demands the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, as well as distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols for effective communication with team members and guests.

- Basic math skills and the ability to multitask are essential, along with a foundational knowledge of beverage specifications and product recognition.

- Experience with cash handling and familiarity with digital cashiering systems is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are a must.

- Adherence to HACCP guidelines is required in all daily operations.

- Compliance with health and safety regulations as outlined by Caesars Entertainment and relevant authorities is mandatory.

- Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess necessary certifications in alcohol awareness and safety training.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull carts weighing between 150 to 250 lbs.

- Employees must be able to navigate walk-in coolers and freezers with temperatures ranging from -10 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

- The role involves exposure to heat from cooking appliances and dishwashing equipment, and requires normal or corrected vision to perform tasks effectively.

- Employees should be capable of standing for the duration of their shifts, frequently walking, bending, and reaching heights of up to 6 feet.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

- The work setting at Caesars Entertainment includes both indoor and outdoor areas, with potential exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and smoke from cigars or cigarettes.

- Employees will be required to work in confined spaces and navigate safely on potentially slippery surfaces while maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of their assigned areas.
