Position Overview:

Daily Manufacturing Engagement: Utilizes fundamental engineering principles and analyses to enhance processes or address manufacturing challenges by minimizing costs and elevating quality, safety, and capability.
  • Enhances hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems within the facility.
  • Supports the maintenance team to promptly resolve issues.
  • Designs or oversees the design of new machinery and tooling.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for operational methodologies.
  • Provides technical assistance to account managers and product development teams.
  • Ensures that plant management and teams have the necessary tools and support to complete assigned tasks and maintain engineering documentation.
Project Leadership: Effectively leads and engages cross-functional teams both internally and externally.
  • Designs manufacturing workflows that align with customer product, delivery, and cost specifications.
  • Participates as a key member of the APQP Team throughout the concept-to-delivery cycle, including design, analysis, budgeting, prototyping, equipment procurement, machine acceptance, training, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Identifies and establishes initiatives that translate new ideas and technologies into practical production applications, collaborating with our R&D team and external partners.
Analytical Problem-Solving:Identifies and addresses mechanical challenges using data from various sources (e.g., customer feedback, quality assessments, testing, production) in a timely manner.
  • Employs a robust set of problem-solving tools, including methodologies from Six Sigma, Lean, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Prepares engineering and cost analyses for process enhancements.
  • May oversee liaison activities with Brazeway's partners, customers, and suppliers.
Collaborative Teamwork:Engages with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures and is available for off-shift support as needed.
  • Must be adaptable as business opportunities arise and capable of multitasking with other responsibilities and projects.
  • Actively adheres to our Process Based Leadership, Code of Conduct, and 5S+Safety Program.
  • Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers, and other Brazeway locations as required - estimated at about 10% of the time, including potential domestic and international travel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience in a 24/7 operational environment; extrusion experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, and Continuous Improvement problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interface with all organizational levels and external customers and suppliers.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with APQP and SolidWorks.
