Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $129,030 - $160,188. This range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as education, experience, and market conditions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to support the Z Program's Science & Technology Assessments and Counterproliferation Analysis & Planning System. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping design strategies, managing design projects, and implementing cutting-edge design methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute intricate design, multimedia, and digital communication initiatives while collaborating with senior leadership to set project standards.
  • Estimate project timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and deadlines.
  • Engage with clients to define project objectives and develop design specifications.
  • Oversee the creation of design concepts and multimedia content that effectively communicate scientific and technological advancements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality design standards and deliver innovative solutions that meet audience needs.
  • Utilize advanced technical skills in web design, HTML coding, and technical illustration to produce sophisticated designs and test web applications.
  • Provide expert consultation on complex projects that incorporate visual elements.
  • Establish quality standards and offer creative guidance on production techniques and cost-effective alternatives.
  • Support specialized computer applications, including database management and web design.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance at the time of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in graphic design, technical illustration, or multimedia design.
  • Extensive knowledge of graphic and web production, particularly in large-scale communications.
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles and emerging design technologies.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), content management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and teams, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams of creative professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and lead high-quality design projects from planning to execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in photography and video editing.
  • Familiarity with pre-press and publication processes.
  • Knowledge of the Intelligence Community and analytic tradecraft.
  • Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite, visualization software, and database management systems.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position necessitates an active DOE Q-level clearance or Top Secret clearance from another U.S. government agency upon hire. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
