Position Summary:

The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision of the organization. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this leader will oversee the organization’s staff, programs, and administrative functions, ensuring the effective execution of our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Mission and Strategy Implementation:

  • Collaborate with the Board and staff to ensure the organization’s mission is realized through innovative programs and strategic planning.
  • Design and implement marketing strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and community engagement.
  • Coordinate with curators to plan and execute artistic presentations and exhibitions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to elevate the organization’s profile.

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage the effective administration of organizational resources and facilities.
  • Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of a skilled and dedicated staff.
  • Authorize all agreements and contracts on behalf of the organization.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure the financial health of the organization by developing and managing the annual budget.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all necessary financial documents.
  • Conduct regular financial assessments in collaboration with accounting professionals.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing and exploring diverse revenue streams.

Board Relations:

  • Guide the organization in alignment with the mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the Board to facilitate informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership with integrity and transparency.
  • 7-10 years of experience in nonprofit management.
  • Strong understanding of cultural arts and community engagement.
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational and strategic planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor relations.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Arabic.
  • Experience living or traveling extensively in the Middle East.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with local arts and culture landscape.
