Hotel Housekeeping Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that guestrooms and common areas are clean, comfortable, well maintained and serviced according to company and AAA specifications. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop a team of housekeeping staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project a positive image and greet all guests and team members
  • Actively coach, mentor and develop team members to improve their skills and performance
  • Generate daily assignments for team members and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently
  • Perform property and guestroom inspections to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Check and report room statuses as needed to ensure seamless guest experiences
  • Inventories and orders departmental supplies to maintain a well-stocked housekeeping department
  • Facilitate hotel lost-and-found and ensure that lost items are returned to their rightful owners
  • Create work schedules and administer payroll to ensure accurate and timely payment
  • Act as Manager on duty and represent the hotel in resolving guest conflicts
  • Keep staff informed of pertinent information and liaise with other departments as operational issues arise
  • Ensure that an adequate number of vacant/clean/inspected rooms are available throughout the day
  • Generate shift reports recording key hotel statistics and incidents
  • Limits the number of accidents and injuries by promoting job safety and ensuring that team members follow safety protocols
  • Grant PTO and conduct team member evaluations to ensure that team members are meeting performance expectations

Requirements:

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Associates Degree in a related field required
  • Two (2) years of experience in hotel housekeeping or a related field preferred
  • Must successfully pass a job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to pass a physical fitness test
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
