Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled IT Support Specialist to become a vital part of our IT department. This role involves delivering technical support and assistance to our team members, ensuring that all technical challenges are addressed promptly and effectively. Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and empathetic responses to user inquiries regarding computer systems and hardware, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all users.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues with a focus on fairness and equity.
  • Maintain detailed records of issues in a ticketing system, ensuring equitable treatment throughout the resolution process.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot both hardware and software, prioritizing accessibility in all solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for end-users on hardware and software usage, accommodating various learning preferences.
  • Keep accurate inventory records of hardware and software, promoting inclusivity in resource allocation.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a technical support or helpdesk role, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with diverse user groups.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and other standard desktop applications, emphasizing accessibility in technology.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams, ensuring inclusive collaboration.
  • Proficient in device management using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, with a focus on inclusive deployment practices.
  • Ability to automate processes using Power Automate and Power Apps, enhancing efficiency for all users.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with a commitment to equitable issue resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, emphasizing cultural awareness and empathy.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team, valuing each member's contributions.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, ensuring accessibility features are utilized.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as EPiCOR, promoting equitable access to training.
  • Familiarity with MES systems, considering diverse user needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, prioritizing inclusivity in communication tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common software applications, focusing on usability for all users.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting connectivity issues, ensuring equitable access.
  • Familiarity with mobile operating systems, such as iOS and Android, emphasizing accessibility features.
  • Knowledge of security software and best practices for safeguarding against threats, prioritizing privacy and inclusivity.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer, with accommodations available to promote comfort.
  • Capability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance provided as necessary.
  • Good manual dexterity for tasks such as typing and connecting cables, with accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
