Communications and Writing Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Communications / Writing Assistant to join our dynamic team at New Directions Staffing. This part-time hybrid role requires a blend of on-site engagement and remote work, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a renowned brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt and distribute press releases to our digital media contacts.
- Oversee the corporate website's 'News' section, ensuring timely updates of press release announcements.
- Create and send notifications for events to internal stakeholders.
- Manage program book inserts for various shows.
- Serve as a communication bridge between national tour representatives and our internal design team.
- Submit events to local online calendars and monitor social media event listings for accuracy.
- Maintain an organized archive of press coverage, including links and physical copies of articles.
- Coordinate photography and videography policies for national tours and events.
- Prepare press kits for opening nights and media opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A background in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media writing.
- Experience in drafting press releases and media announcements.
- Familiarity with social media engagement in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat (preferred).
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Exceptional proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in collaborative environments.
- Effective organizational and planning skills.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
