The Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning will spearhead a prominent Strategic Planning team, directly reporting to the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Transformation, and Business Development. This position will collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team, various Corporate Functions, and essential business partners on diverse strategic and operational projects that facilitate the implementation of a comprehensive, well-defined, multi-year Long-Range Plan.

This role encompasses four primary responsibilities: 1) Guide the formulation and periodic update of the organization's Long-Range Plan, 2) Oversee extensive cross-functional projects addressing critical strategic challenges at the enterprise level, 3) Direct impactful strategic initiatives aligned with key organizational priorities, and 4) Provide insights into external market dynamics and competitive factors that may influence business performance, global growth, or strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the creation of our annual corporate strategic plan aimed at maximizing growth and profitability across the company's revenue streams and brand portfolio.
  • Manage the Long-Range Planning process, collaborating closely with the Executive team and key functional leaders to ensure effective execution of initiatives that drive sustainable growth.
  • Facilitate cross-functional initiatives linked to our Long-Range Plan, engaging with departments such as Real Estate, Regional Directors, Product Development, Marketing, Digital Experience, Business Development, and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Oversee a complex portfolio of strategic projects that provide direction for essential strategic levers, including market positioning, expansion into new segments, enhancing competitive advantages, prioritizing territories and products, and developing enterprise digital and ESG strategies.
  • Develop expertise in market trends to identify opportunities that will inform strategic direction.
  • Conduct competitive market research and peer strategy analysis, utilizing insights from a wide array of functional experts and data sources.
  • Manage a team of dedicated strategic planning associates and serve as a Center of Excellence, guiding regional strategy leads. Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment that encourages team members to excel.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the identification of new business model opportunities to complement our Long-Range Plan, advising on the timing and approach for addressing these opportunities.
  • Collaborate with our brands to identify strategic opportunities, informed by market and competitor research, and lead brand offsites and global strategy summits.
  • Develop brand and regional strategies that align with our corporate Long-Range Plan, providing market intelligence and insights into customer perspectives and retail market conditions.
  • Encourage innovative thinking and challenge the status quo within the leadership team.
  • Partner with customer insights and analytics teams to derive actionable business recommendations from quantitative and qualitative research studies.
  • Occasionally manage and provide guidance to teams from external strategy consulting firms.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence decision-making across all organizational levels (CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Brand, Operations, and functional leaders).
  • A dynamic leader of a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives sponsored by executive leaders, adept at identifying synergies and managing multiple projects effectively.
  • Collaborative and open-minded approach to working with cross-functional partners in a non-hierarchical environment.
  • A detail-oriented data enthusiast with experience in analyzing complex data to derive insights and recommendations.
  • A committed lifelong learner eager to innovate and grow.
  • An entrepreneurial self-starter comfortable with change and ambiguity, capable of handling significant responsibilities.

Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, or investment banking, particularly within retail, apparel, direct-to-consumer brands, or e-commerce.
  • In-depth understanding of trends in the retail and apparel industry, competitor strategies, and dynamics in both U.S. and global markets.
  • Familiarity with key frameworks related to corporate strategy, brand development, commercialization, and business development.
  • Experience in crafting a multi-year corporate strategy for a large, global organization and executing strategic plans for business growth.
  • Strong grasp of financial accounting, modeling, and valuation.
  • Experience in a highly strategic retail or brand organization with international markets and various retail business segments preferred.
