Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Manager to oversee our IT operations across multiple locations. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and security of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Organizational Development
  • Promote a culture of respect and high professional standards within the organization.
  • Participate in agency-wide workgroups to enhance IT collaboration.
  • Facilitate critical thinking and solutions-focused problem-solving.
  • Contribute to managerial discussions that drive organizational success.
  • Focus on achieving objectives, managing budgets, and ensuring departmental contributions to overall success.
  • Develop staff capabilities to enhance performance.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Engage in strategic planning and set long-term goals for the IT department.
  • Assist staff in identifying and pursuing professional development opportunities.
IT Management Duties
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the IT team to ensure efficient operations and professional growth.
  • Strategic IT Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Network Oversight: Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure for optimal performance and security.
  • System Maintenance: Ensure regular updates and backups to maintain data integrity.
  • Software Management: Oversee installation and troubleshooting of software applications.
  • User Training: Develop training sessions for staff on new technologies.
  • Project Management: Lead various IT projects, including system upgrades.
  • Security Implementation: Monitor security protocols to protect data and infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT processes and systems.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors for IT procurement and services.
  • Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new staff regarding IT setup.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the IT budget effectively.
  • Travel: Occasionally travel to provide on-site support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in an IT role, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems.
    • Experience with network administration and cloud services.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends, though this is rare.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises IT team members in accordance with organizational policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing employee concerns.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Office attendance is required.
