Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to oversee the Final Assembly Process at our facility. This role involves leading a skilled team responsible for the critical final stages of our assembly operations, which includes the precise installation of garbage truck bodies onto truck chassis, along with necessary prep work, wiring, and hydraulic systems integration. A strong technical background and a passion for innovation are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards.
  • Efficiently manage manufacturing schedules.
  • Design optimal assembly lines and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity enhancements and assist in executing necessary changes.
  • Supervise and coordinate the workforce to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
  • Develop strategies to reduce process variations and delays while increasing overall productivity.
  • Participate in recruitment processes, oversee employee performance, and manage disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Manage labor costs effectively within budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate production schedules with support teams and promptly address manufacturing challenges.
  • Communicate expectations and resolve issues with supervisory staff.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and capable of developing performance metrics.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with industry processes and equipment.
  • Ability to plan and implement changes effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask independently.
  • Mathematical skills, including proficiency with fractions and angles.
  • Financial understanding to assess profitability and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including document creation, spreadsheets, payroll, and ERP software.
