Department Overview
The Human Resources department at InsideHigherEd plays a crucial role in supporting our workforce of dedicated professionals. We focus on strategic human capital management, employee engagement, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Our team handles sensitive employee matters and is committed to professionalism and confidentiality.
Position SummaryThis role serves as a strategic HR partner and advisor to senior management within designated units. Collaborating closely with leadership, the HR Business Partner will assess and anticipate human resources needs, crafting integrated solutions that align with organizational objectives. This position will engage consistently with leadership, staff, and the broader employee community.
Key Responsibilities1. Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with leadership to devise and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies.
2. Strategic Alignment: Work alongside unit leadership to enhance business operations while aligning with the strategic goals of the organization.
3. Professional Development: Design and facilitate programs aimed at professional growth, team-building, and employee satisfaction.
4. Performance Management: Provide guidance on performance management and development needs within the unit.
5. Compensation Consultation: Engage with compensation teams to evaluate and advise on compensation structures and changes.
6. Workplace Relations: Foster positive workplace relationships and provide insights into employee engagement and retention strategies.
7. HR Policy Education: Develop resources and training to enhance understanding of HR policies and procedures.
8. Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between HR and unit leadership, facilitating communication and collaboration.
9. Workplace Trends Analysis: Provide insights on internal and external workplace trends to inform strategic discussions.
10. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
QualificationsEducational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Seven to nine years of relevant experience, particularly in Employee Relations.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field; HR certification (PHR or SPHR); experience in management consulting or senior-level HR roles.
Skills and AbilitiesThis position requires strong business acumen, effective communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex employee relations issues. A proactive and strategic mindset, along with a commitment to ethical practices, is essential.
