Department Overview

The Human Resources department at InsideHigherEd is dedicated to supporting our workforce through strategic guidance, employee engagement, and essential HR operations. Our team handles sensitive employee matters and is committed to professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

This role serves as a strategic HR partner and advisor to senior leadership within designated units. Responsibilities include:

1. Recruitment Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to develop proactive recruitment and retention strategies.

2. Business Optimization: Work with unit leaders to align business objectives with HR strategies.

3. Professional Development: Design and implement programs to enhance employee skills and satisfaction.

4. Talent Development: Assess and create plans for talent growth within the unit.

5. Compensation Consultation: Facilitate discussions on compensation and related HR matters.

6. Workplace Relations: Enhance workplace relationships and engagement through regular assessments.

7. HR Knowledge Sharing: Develop resources to improve understanding of HR policies among employees and managers.

8. Relationship Building: Represent HR in assigned units and connect with leadership.

9. Trend Analysis: Provide insights on workplace trends to inform strategic discussions.

10. Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with seven to nine years of relevant experience, particularly in Employee Relations.

Preferred:

Master's Degree in a related field and HR certifications such as PHR or SPHR. Experience in management consulting and talent acquisition within a higher education context is also advantageous.

Skills and Abilities

This position requires strong business acumen, effective communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex employee relations issues. A proactive and strategic mindset, along with emotional intelligence, is essential for success in this role.
