Department Overview

The Human Resources team at InsideHigherEd plays a crucial role in supporting our workforce of dedicated professionals. We are committed to managing employee relations and fostering a positive work environment through strategic initiatives and effective communication.

Position Summary

This role serves as a strategic HR partner and advisor to senior leadership within designated units. Collaborating closely with leadership and the HR department, the HR Business Partner will assess and anticipate HR-related needs, crafting integrated solutions that align with organizational objectives. This position will engage regularly with leadership, staff, and the broader employee community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment Strategy: Collaborate with HR Talent Acquisition and unit leadership to devise and implement proactive recruitment and retention strategies.

2. Business Optimization: Work alongside unit leadership to enhance business operations while aligning with the strategic direction of the organization.

3. Professional Development: Design and execute professional development initiatives aimed at enhancing employee growth, training, and team cohesion.

4. Talent Development: Create plans to nurture talent within the unit and assess development needs, providing guidance on performance management.

5. Compensation Consultation: Facilitate discussions with HR Compensation and unit leadership to evaluate and consult on compensation-related matters.

6. Workplace Relations: Collaborate with management and employees to enhance workplace relationships, engagement, and retention.

7. HR Knowledge Sharing: Develop resources and training to improve understanding of HR policies and procedures across the organization.

8. Liaison Role: Represent HR in assigned units, fostering relationships with leadership and connecting with HR subject matter experts as needed.

9. Workplace Insights: Provide insights on workplace trends and challenges to facilitate strategic discussions around people management.

10. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Seven to nine years of relevant experience, particularly in Employee Relations.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, along with HR certifications such as PHR or SPHR. Experience in management consulting and senior-level management coaching is advantageous.

Skills Required:

This position demands strong business acumen, effective communication skills, and the ability to resolve complex employee relations issues. A solid understanding of workplace laws and HR best practices is essential.
