Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the HR function leader for business units within the region, aiding managers and staff in the effective utilization of HR resources across all functional areas.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing ongoing insights and guidance on personnel, teams, or programs that require attention to achieve people-related objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements, including compliance with NLRA, ADA, FMLA, AA/EEO, FLSA, and local UI processes and procedures.
  • Facilitate leader and contributor performance by identifying challenges, assessing potential solutions, and implementing proactive measures.
  • Oversee daily Human Resources operations in assigned functions in collaboration with HR Operations and other essential business and HR partners.
  • Provide benefits expertise to support facilities during open enrollment and the implementation of plan modifications.
  • Collaborate with leaders throughout the performance review, merit, and rewards processes.
  • Lead, support, guide, and execute recruitment initiatives for open roles as necessary.
  • Partner with local management to ensure the successful execution of programs that foster positive employee relations and a culture aligned with The Quikrete Companies' values and behaviors.
  • Engage directly in employee coaching, counseling, and termination discussions, acting as both an employee advocate and a business partner.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, with 10-15 years of substantial HR Generalist experience, encompassing a broad understanding of workforce strategy, employee relations, talent management, and talent acquisition.
  • Proficient understanding of the principles required to be the preferred consultant for the business.
  • Coaching skills: adept interpersonal abilities that allow for seamless transitions between coaching and counseling; Counseling skills: capable of conducting critical employment discussions clearly and calmly with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior business leaders and internal stakeholders to drive change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on internal and external customer service, building relationships with senior business leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in manufacturing and unionized environments.
  • Thorough knowledge of FLSA, NLRA, EEOC, ADA, and FMLA practices and policies, along with an understanding of legal exposures.
  • Excellent grasp of federal HR legislation and regulations (employment standards, human rights, pay equity, employment equity, etc.).
  • Program management, prioritization, and process improvement skills to effectively manage multiple projects, processes, and ongoing activities.
  • Ability to interpret, evaluate, and apply regulations, policies, and procedures to various work situations, establishing credibility and decisiveness while respecting the organization's preferences and priorities with confidentiality.
  • Analytical thinking regarding the HR function, developing metrics and measures to assess programs while balancing daily needs and implementing strategies and systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Experience collaborating with payroll and engaging in key processes.
  • Ability to establish credibility and decisiveness, recognizing and supporting the organization's preferences and priorities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conflict resolution and investigations, with a preference for candidates who have experience maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Understanding of US benefits program operations and associated legal considerations.
  • Competent in behavioral-based interviewing techniques, capable of training others.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to articulate how decisions impact profit and loss.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to relate to diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible manner.
  • Ability to operate strategically and operationally.
  • Sound reasoning abilities and judgment.
  • Effective communication skills.
