About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Scientist to join our team at Stanford University's Department of Pathology and ChEM-H. The successful candidate will lead projects investigating novel biological mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets to treat metabolic disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute complex research projects, including background research, experimental design, and data analysis.
  • Develop and implement new protocols and techniques to advance our understanding of metabolic disease.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to advance research projects and contribute to the preparation of papers for publication.
  • Present ongoing work and findings to colleagues at academic conferences.
  • Work with the health and safety department to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related science field.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success through first-author publications or other quantifiable achievements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Working Conditions

The position may require working in close proximity to blood-borne pathogens and may involve extended or unusual work hours based on research requirements and business needs.
