Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves providing essential support to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child maltreatment, fostering an environment of hope and recovery through various responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Responsibilities
    • Implement preventive maintenance activities including painting, wall repairs, carpentry, and general upkeep.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers.
    • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are upheld within the facility.
    • Enforce safety protocols within the workspace.
    • Prepare living units for incoming clients in a timely manner.
    • Conduct necessary plumbing and electrical repairs.
    • Assist with furniture assembly and relocation tasks.
    • Oversee the maintenance of outdoor spaces such as lawns and flowerbeds.
    • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on appliances.
    • Prepare the facility for adverse weather conditions.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Maintain comprehensive records for clients, stakeholders, interns, and volunteers in organizational databases.
    • Manage grant reporting and foster relationships with funding organizations.
    • Adhere to established program protocols and engage in Quality Assurance initiatives.
    • Recruit, assess, and supervise team members.
    • Ensure accurate and timely tracking of employee hours.
    • Manage staffing coverage and address any complaints.
    • Oversee inventory of maintenance supplies.
    • Assist in the creation and management of budgets.
  • Community Outreach
    • Enhance awareness regarding victimization and prevention through public speaking engagements.
    • Participate in community meetings to build professional networks.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for program development in collaboration with staff.
  • Professional Growth
    • Stay updated on best practices related to trauma-informed care.
    • Attend training sessions to further develop skills and knowledge.
  • Additional Requirements
    • Exhibit competencies relevant to the agency and position.
    • Education and Experience:
      • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
      • Certification in HVAC, CMT, CMM, or a related field.
      • A minimum of 10 years in commercial building maintenance, including 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrated ability to work empathetically with victims of abuse.
    Physical Demands
    • Medium Work: Ability to lift and move objects of varying weights.
    • Visual and physical capabilities for diverse tasks.
    • Required physical movements and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
