About the Role
The City of Charlotte is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our Development Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our Land Development Section, Right-of-Way Section, and Special Events team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of official division/departmental communications
- Schedule multiple coordination meetings with various government agencies, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Process orders for supplies and other Division purchases as the Division Purchase Card (P-Card) account holder
- Provide administrative support for project managers on utility projects in the right-of-way, including meeting coordination, permit distribution, and complaint resolution
- Support Block Party permits, the Special Events Calendar, GIS entries for road closures and detours, Abandonments/Lease Agreements, and other R/W Management permits
- Recordkeeping, copying, filing, and archiving for reimbursements for land development petitions, encroachments, leases, abandonments, and utility master permit applications
- Assist with MUNIS financial entry, including P-Card statements, requisition entries, and purchase order requests
- Provide coverage and dispatch of the CDOT main line telephone
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent and one year(s) of related work experience
- OR
- 2 Year College Degree
Working Conditions
The work is performed in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to atmospheric conditions, moderate exposure to environmental conditions, and frequent exposure to computer screens, files, and phone.
