ROLE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS:
The Vice President of Operations will oversee the administrative leadership and management of the organization's operations, which encompass finance, strategic business planning, budgeting, contracts, compliance, risk management, human resources, facilities maintenance, and IT.
This role is crucial in partnering with senior leadership and the Board of Directors for strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Financial Oversight:
Formulate and execute operational strategies that align with the organization’s overarching goals and objectives.
Provide leadership and direction to the finance and HR teams.
Ensure complete transparency regarding the organization’s financial performance to all stakeholders, including the Board.
Lead budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management for administration and programs.
In collaboration with the CEO, manage and review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress, and keep the senior leadership team informed of the organization’s financial health.
Oversee the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and evaluate necessary changes.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance.
Human Resources Management:
Revise and implement essential business policies, HR, and accounting practices.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Assist in developing and integrating organizational values into cohesive hiring, training, evaluation, and professional development practices.
Maintain high-quality HR functions, including handbook updates, training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluations, and recruitment.
Technology Leadership:
Guide technical staff in creating and executing an IT strategy that meets the organization’s growing needs (both hardware and software).
Support facilities and infrastructure to meet operational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the overall quality and content of financial data, reporting, and audit coordination for a significant program area, along with prior oversight of a human resources function.
