ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Vice President of Operations will oversee the administrative leadership and management of the organization's operations, encompassing finance, strategic planning, budgeting, contracts, compliance, risk management, human resources, facilities maintenance, and IT. This role is crucial in partnering with senior leadership and the Board of Directors for strategic decision-making and operational excellence. The VP will work closely with the CEO to enhance and refine organizational systems.
Financial Management:
- Formulate and execute operational strategies that align with the organization's overarching goals.
- Lead and manage the finance and HR operations teams effectively.
- Ensure transparency regarding the organization's financial performance to all stakeholders, including the Board.
- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management for current programs and potential new initiatives.
- Collaborate with the CEO to review and manage all financial plans and budgets, keeping the leadership team informed of the financial landscape.
- Supervise the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and the finance committee.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness.
Human Resources Leadership:
- Revise and implement essential business policies, HR practices, and accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and integrating organizational values into cohesive hiring, training, and professional development practices.
- Maintain high-quality HR functions, including handbook updates, training, employee relations, and recruitment.
Technology Oversight:
- Guide technical staff in creating and executing an IT strategy that meets the organization's evolving needs.
- Support operational needs related to facilities and infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing financial data quality, reporting, and audit coordination, along with experience in managing human resources functions.
