Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Senior Vice President of Electrical Engineering to enhance our leadership team. This role will entail providing strategic guidance, technical acumen, and leadership to our electrical engineering division. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in fostering innovation, refining processes, and ensuring the delivery of superior solutions to our clientele across diverse projects, including data centers, industrial facilities, office buildings, and other significant construction endeavors. The Senior VP of Electrical Engineering will work closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and external partners to guarantee the successful implementation of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all facets of the electrical engineering division, including project oversight, resource management, and talent development.
  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Engage with clients, project leaders, and team members to enhance project workflows, optimize resource distribution, and drive project success.
  • Design electrical power systems and conduct design calculations for a wide array of project types.
  • Review, endorse, and finalize project documentation.
  • Evaluate submittals, respond to RFIs, manage change orders, prepare record drawings, conduct site visits, inspections, and participate in commissioning activities.
  • Draft and refine specifications for electrical equipment, selecting appropriate systems and devices.
  • Ensure projects are completed accurately, within established timelines, and adhere to budget constraints.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering design within the construction sector, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
  • Experience in designing critical power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing plants, medical facilities, or other large-scale commercial projects.
  • Proficient in creating construction documents for medium voltage electrical infrastructure, including specifications for duct banks, feeders, and geotechnical evaluations.
  • Experienced in conducting Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies.
  • Familiarity with Medium Voltage switchgear, UPS systems, and low-voltage distribution equipment selection and specifications.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing electrical engineering teams, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Extensive experience in coordinating with various design disciplines to produce a cohesive design documentation package.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Strong knowledge of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
  • Advanced understanding of equipment power requirements, including large-scale standby and emergency power systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electrical commissioning, including factory acceptance testing, script development, IR scanning, load bank testing, and generator operations.
  • Familiarity with high voltage designs, including substation physical design, protection & controls, SCADA, equipment specifications, and feeder distribution.
