Position Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is actively seeking experienced Project Managers to enhance our Buildings/Electrical division. Candidates must hold a valid engineering license.

Our team of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineers brings expertise across various projects, including power generation and distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, security, and access control solutions. We specialize in designing both new and renovated systems, alongside energy management solutions. Our services encompass new building commissioning as well as retro-commissioning. Our professionals excel in optimizing energy consumption while ensuring comfortable indoor environments. We assess how design choices influence both immediate capital expenditures and long-term operational expenses. Additionally, our team conducts constructability reviews to minimize project costs and expedite completion timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) by conducting peer reviews, quality assurance, and quality control on projects before submission, while coordinating with the electrical department leader.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans and budget estimates for approval.
  • Oversee project timelines and budgetary constraints to meet client expectations while managing work efficiency.
  • Ensure quality control and assurance processes are adhered to for all assigned projects.
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of proposals and provide marketing support, including business development initiatives.
  • Identify project teams, delineate work packages and tasks, establish evaluation methods, productivity benchmarks, schedules for deliverables, and manpower requirements.
  • Guarantee compliance with all project planning and profit control protocols.
  • Guide junior staff in mastering sound technical and business practices while promoting corporate objectives.
  • Assist in verifying compliance with local codes and regulations in all design aspects.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure a cohesive design approach.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering design experience within the architecture sector is essential.
  • Must be a licensed engineer in Michigan and/or Ohio.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AGI Lighting, and power analysis software (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP) is preferred.
  • A strong passion for power, lighting, and fire alarm design.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for effective communication in job-related contexts.
