Human Resources Generalist

Toyotetsu America Inc. is looking for candidates for a role within our organization. We are a key partner and primary supplier in the automotive manufacturing sector.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with potential weekend shifts.

Role Objective:

To deliver comprehensive support across various human resources functions to meet organizational objectives and foster a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary tasks include, but are not limited to:

Employee Relations: Assist employees in resolving workplace issues, addressing benefits inquiries, interpreting policies, and managing attendance and performance concerns. Handle unemployment claims and represent the company in hearings.

Benefits Administration: Support the annual Open Enrollment process; assist employees with daily benefits inquiries; manage administrative tasks within the benefits system.

Communication: Enhance communication between management and employees; create HR-related communications for internal platforms and postings.

Leave Management: Guide employees through leave requests and accommodations; monitor approved leaves in collaboration with corporate guidelines.

Investigative Support: Collect information regarding complaints or policy breaches; conduct interviews and document findings; provide management with a summary and recommendations.

Compliance: Manage responses to official notices and maintain accurate records for new hires and terminations.

Surveys: Assist in conducting wage and benefit surveys, employee opinion surveys, and analyze the results.

Employee Recognition: Engage in activities that promote employee recognition and morale, such as events and awards.

Reporting: Prepare and submit various reports; utilize visual aids to present data trends; fulfill key performance indicators as per departmental standards.

Record Maintenance: Ensure proper documentation is maintained in both physical and electronic formats according to company policies.

HR Information Systems: Utilize HRIS tools for data entry and updates; maintain tracking spreadsheets.

Safety Support: Collaborate with safety and security teams as necessary.

Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training on policies and benefits.

Termination Processes: Assist in the implementation of corrective actions, conduct exit interviews, and manage the return of company property.

Training: Provide training sessions for employees and management as required; assist in tracking training progress.

Qualifications:
  1. Education:
    1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or four years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  2. Technical Skills:
    1. Comprehensive understanding of company policies and procedures.
    2. Proficient in computer applications (PC, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  3. Interpersonal Skills:
    1. Ability to lead and develop teams, influence others, and navigate organizational dynamics.
    2. Strong relationship-building and conflict resolution skills.
    3. Strategic and original thinking abilities.
    4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    5. Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational capabilities.
    6. Motivated, flexible, and assertive personal attributes.
  4. Work Environment:
    1. Shared office setting with moderate noise levels.
    2. Personal protective equipment may be required.
  5. Work Hours:
    1. Standard hours are Monday through Friday.
    2. Occasional Saturday shifts may be required.
    3. Shifts available: 6:00 am – 2:45 pm, 8:00 am - 4:45 pm, or 10:00 am – 6:45 pm.
Additional Responsibilities:

Flexibility to assist in various departmental functions as needed to achieve organizational goals.
