Position Overview

This role is pivotal in executing HR-related functions at a professional level, collaborating closely with senior HR leadership to support various initiatives. The incumbent will manage responsibilities across several key areas, including benefits management, employee engagement, training and development, performance assessment, policy enforcement, and compliance with employment legislation.

The selected candidate will embody and promote the organization's Core Values. Responsibilities include:
  • Administering diverse human resource plans and procedures for all staff.
  • Assisting in the formulation and execution of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining the employee handbook and policy manuals in alignment with organizational and national standards.
  • Participating in the establishment of program goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Overseeing the compensation framework and revising the performance evaluation system as needed.
  • Managing benefits administration, including claims resolution, reporting changes, approving invoices, and communicating benefits information to staff.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliations of benefit plans and tracking financial transactions with carriers.
  • Issuing ADA, FMLA, and Non-FMLA leave rights and responsibilities to employees.
  • Facilitating the entire lifecycle of interns, volunteers, and temporary staff, including recruitment and onboarding.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities.
  • Developing tailored processes for the integration of interns, volunteers, and temporary staff.
  • Working with Payroll/Accounting for processing employee benefits and HR-related invoices.
  • Supporting recruitment for all personnel categories and conducting orientations.
  • Maintaining the Learning Management System and assisting trainers as necessary.
  • Participating in administrative meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintaining organizational charts, employee directories, and HR information system records.
  • Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment and benefits regulations.

Qualifications

Education
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
  • SHRM or HRCI certification(s).
Work Experience
  • Required: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources.
Preferred:
  • At least four (4) years of experience in Human Resources.
Essential Skills
  • Proficient understanding of HRIS, Learning Management Systems, and digital documentation systems.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Spanish language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven ability to meet high-performance standards and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of fostering relationships with staff, board members, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and maturity.
  • Resourceful team player with the ability to work independently on multiple projects.
  • Proactive thinker who identifies opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and summarize reports effectively.
  • Willingness to travel for training sessions as required.
  • Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and current auto liability insurance.

Working Conditions

This position involves general office duties and sedentary work. The role requires regular sitting, using hands for tasks, and effective communication. The candidate must maintain emotional control under stress and manage interruptions and deadlines. Occasional lifting and carrying of 10-30 pounds may be necessary.
