JOB SUMMARY

The Event Operations Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless service delivery during events. This position involves effective communication with culinary and service teams to fulfill event requirements. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting invoices for group functions, ensuring all event spaces are ready and aesthetically pleasing, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation for all dining ware. Regular guest interactions are essential to confirm satisfaction and address any needs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or GED, or a two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field, along with two years of experience in hospitality roles such as food and beverage, guest services, or front desk operations.

OR

• If lacking formal education, a minimum of three years of experience in at least two hospitality areas, including food and beverage, guest services, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience in shift management, scheduling, performance management, and problem-solving within hospitality operations.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Management of Event Operations

• Ensure that meeting and event spaces are arranged according to event specifications and client requests.

• Lead shifts and actively engage in the service of events, adhering to established standards and procedures.

• Maintain inventory of event supplies and ensure timely setup and execution of all functions.

• Participate in relevant meetings to align on event needs and expectations.

• Conduct inspections of event spaces prior to functions to confirm readiness.

• Delegate tasks effectively to meet service timelines and standards.

• Manage departmental inventories and order necessary supplies for events.

Leading Teams and Upholding Standards

• Foster a work environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and a commitment to service excellence.

• Communicate departmental goals clearly during meetings to achieve desired outcomes.

Providing Exceptional Customer Service

• Encourage team members to deliver outstanding customer service while addressing guest feedback and concerns promptly.

• Understand the impact of event operations on overall guest satisfaction and manage activities accordingly.

Assisting in Human Resource Activities

• Identify training needs and support the development of team members.

• Participate in performance appraisal processes and assist in hiring qualified candidates.
