JOB SUMMARY

The Event Operations Assistant Manager plays a vital role in ensuring seamless service delivery during events. This position involves effective communication with culinary and service teams to fulfill event requirements. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting invoices for group functions, confirming that all event spaces are set up according to specifications, and ensuring that all table settings are aesthetically pleasing and functional. Regular interaction with guests is essential to assess their satisfaction and address any needs or concerns. The role also requires maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the event.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or GED, or a two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field, along with two years of experience in food and beverage, guest services, or a similar area.

OR

• If lacking formal education, a minimum of three years of experience in at least two hospitality areas, including food and beverage, guest services, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in shift management, scheduling, performance evaluations, problem-solving, and operational oversight in a hospitality setting.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Management of Event Operations

• Ensure that meeting and event spaces are arranged according to event documentation and client specifications.

• Lead shifts and actively engage in the execution of events.

• Uphold and enforce all operational standards and procedures.

• Maintain inventory of event supplies and ensure timely ordering of necessary materials.

• Participate in relevant meetings to align on event requirements and team objectives.

• Communicate essential information to various teams involved in event execution.

• Conduct inspections of event spaces prior to the start of each function to ensure compliance with specifications.

• Delegate tasks effectively to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

Leading Teams and Upholding Standards

• Ensure team members are knowledgeable about safety regulations and operational standards.

• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.

• Communicate departmental goals clearly during team meetings to achieve desired outcomes.

Delivering Exceptional Customer Service

• Motivate team members to provide outstanding service while adhering to company guidelines.

• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary.

• Gather feedback from guests to enhance service quality and event experiences.

Supporting Human Resource Activities

• Identify training needs and support the development of team members.

• Assist in the performance appraisal process and contribute to employee development initiatives.

• Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.

The hourly pay range for this position is $26.44 to $28.85. Marriott offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, and various wellness benefits.
