Banquet Server Role Summary:
The Banquet Server is responsible for facilitating food and beverage service, ensuring guest satisfaction, and managing the logistics of banquet functions through effective setup, clear communication, and teamwork, leading to successful events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and engage with all members in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the start of each shift to comprehend the offerings for the event.
  • Assist in the arrangement of tables, linens, chairs, and other elements for comprehensive banquet service.
  • Prepare the event space by adjusting lighting, sound levels, and temperature as necessary upon guest arrival.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency while serving on the floor.
  • Ensure guests have a memorable experience at the clubhouse, encouraging return visits.
  • Maintain a high standard of dining service by delivering items, addressing guest needs, clearing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling beverages.
  • Adhere to departmental uniform and grooming standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members across departments.
  • Be available for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Follow all departmental and club policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in food service or customer relations.
  • Complete alcohol awareness and food safety training within 30 days of employment.
  • Prior experience with fine wines and spirits is highly desirable.
  • Possess a valid driver's license for operating company vehicles.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of managing a diverse workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate tact and understanding when addressing various customer service challenges, including stressful situations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Willingness to provide exceptional service to members and lead the department towards achieving its goals.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written directions in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entirety of the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Involves pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.
  • Work may be performed in varying weather conditions as required by the event.
