  • Conducts screenings for clients to assess eligibility for benefits and services.
  • Engages with clients to explain available programs, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists clients in completing application forms.
  • Evaluates and approves service providers affiliated with the agency.
  • Researches necessary information to support client applications.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for individuals applying for services.
  • Interviews applicants for various benefit and service programs.
  • Provides detailed information regarding program eligibility, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitates the completion of applications and performs initial screenings.
  • Offers information to clients seeking assistance and makes direct referrals as needed.
  • Utilizes various databases to verify information required for application processing.
  • Keeps accurate logs of client documentation received.
  • Schedules and coordinates appointments for clients with relevant staff.
  • Contacts clients to gather necessary information and addresses routine inquiries.
  • Analyzes client needs and coordinates resources to support families, generating payments for services when applicable.
  • Conducts assessments for emergency needs and prepares reports for statistical analysis.
  • Assists in training and orienting new staff members.
  • In the area of Foster Care, conducts searches for adoption via various resources and assists with subsidy billing.
  • Prepares financial and statistical reports, case documentation, and court reports.
  • Coordinates special events and programs to support community initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of customer service principles, administrative procedures, and community resources is essential. Skills in operating office equipment and software applications are necessary. The ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, and establish professional relationships is crucial.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma with additional coursework in social work, human services, or a related field is required, along with relevant experience in public administrative support. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will also be considered.

Special Requirements:

Applicants may undergo various background checks and screenings as part of the hiring process. Willingness to work in community emergency shelters during disasters or emergencies is required.
