We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Garden Center Merchandising Specialist to join our team at National Garden Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining visually appealing outdoor plant displays in our garden centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and display a variety of outdoor plants and flowers
- Maintain product displays and ensure they are visually appealing
- Water and care for plant materials
- Develop a watering plan with the floral department manager for additional support as needed
- Ensure proper signage is in place
- Maintain a safe and clean display area
- Remove and record expired plant material
- Interact with store personnel and customers
- Develop a positive working relationship with store management and associates
- Complete reports for each store serviced
- Document every visit using a mobile app
Requirements:
- Must have a smartphone
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation
- Work outdoors in all elements
- Lift, push, and carry up to 30 pounds repetitively
- Understand and execute planograms
- Use workplace mobile apps
- Preferred experience in merchandising, retail, and/or customer service
- Experience working at a garden center is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized
- Detail-oriented
- Creative
- Responsible, reliable, and dependable work habits
- Self-starter/self-motivated
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Previous merchandiser experience appreciated – will train strong candidates
Work Environment:
- Part-time, seasonal position
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Up to 25% travel required
