About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care within our Medical-Surgical Overflow Observation unit. This role is essential in delivering high-quality nursing services to a diverse patient demographic, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.

Unit Insights:

  • The Medical-Surgical Overflow Observation unit plays a crucial role in managing patients transitioning from emergency and step-down care, offering comprehensive treatment for a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

Team Environment:

  • Our unit promotes a collaborative culture, where every team member is respected and supported.
  • We emphasize transparent communication and a supportive atmosphere, accommodating personal circumstances and unexpected situations.

Nursing Support and Staffing:

  • During the day, the nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5 or 1:6, with additional assistance from a dedicated charge nurse.
  • At night, the nurse-to-patient ratio remains at 1:5 or 1:6, ensuring each patient receives adequate attention.
  • Clinical Nurse Coordinators are available to provide support and guidance, maintaining a manageable patient load for optimal care.
  • Our team is further supported by Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to enhance patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Leadership in delivering professional nursing care focused on patient comfort and wellbeing.
  • Utilization of the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Implementation of prescribed medical interventions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within five years of hire.
  • Licensure: Current registered nurse license with the appropriate board of nursing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a nursing role.
