Unit Highlights:

  • The Medical Surgical Overflow Observation unit is essential for managing patients transitioning from emergency and step-down care, offering comprehensive treatment for various medical and surgical issues.

Team Environment:

  • We emphasize transparent communication and a supportive atmosphere, accommodating personal circumstances and unexpected situations.

Nursing Support and Staffing:

  • Daytime nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6, supplemented by a dedicated charge nurse.
  • Nighttime nurse-to-patient ratio maintains a range of 1:5-6 to ensure each patient receives appropriate care.
  • Clinical Nurse Coordinators are available for guidance, with a manageable patient load to ensure effective support.
  • Our team includes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to enhance patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering professional nursing care to ensure patient comfort and wellbeing.
  • Application of the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Execution of medically prescribed interventions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within five years of hire.
  • Licensure: Current registered nurse license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC license may apply.
  • Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in nursing practice.
