Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and established standards of practice for your specialty.
In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, you will offer personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, adhering to established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess the patient's condition upon admission and during each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with the goal of obtaining a BSN within five years of hire into the RN position.
Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions or extensions may be approved by the facility CNO and reported to the CNO Council members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptions should this information be needed. RNs with ten years or more of experience are exempt.
Preferred Education:
Masters in Nursing
Required License/Certifications:
Must have and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with NCBON. Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider. Preferred License/Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty.
Required Experience:
