The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to take on the role of Director of Lodging.

The Director of Lodging at See Rock City, Inc. will spearhead our lodging division, emphasizing the delivery of exceptional guest experiences across our various properties. This position is pivotal in shaping the future of our lodging services, enhancing the offerings at our existing venues, and elevating our brand as a premier destination for lodging. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for hospitality, extensive experience in the industry, and a proven history of effective leadership in managing diverse teams and enhancing lodging operations.

As a vital member of our Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Lodging will oversee the operational aspects of our lodging services, contributing to strategic planning and execution. Their insights will be instrumental in guiding our future strategies, requiring a blend of high-level strategic vision and hands-on operational management. Under their guidance, we aim to fulfill our mission of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests by providing outstanding service, top-notch amenities, and remarkable culinary offerings.

Job Description

The Director of Lodging is responsible for overseeing and managing all lodging operations within the See Rock City, Inc. portfolio. This role encompasses various aspects of guest accommodations, including food service, housekeeping, and guest relations, ensuring that every element of the lodging experience meets the highest standards. The Director of Lodging will also collaborate with other departments as necessary.

  • Leads the establishment of brand standards across lodging venues to guarantee outstanding guest experiences.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to identify and address location-specific needs and drive operational excellence.
  • Guarantees that amenities and services meet both company and industry standards, prioritizing guest satisfaction.
  • Ensures food quality and safety standards are upheld across all locations.
  • Manages the budget preparation and implementation for all lodging venues, overseeing P&L responsibilities.
  • Monitors sales performance and adjusts strategies to meet budgetary goals.
  • Implements cost control strategies and delegates responsibilities effectively.
  • Oversees staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage across all locations.
  • Collaborates with marketing to promote new offerings and special events.
  • Monitors partner training to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains the overall presentation of lodging locations to ensure they are welcoming and well-maintained.
  • Identifies opportunities for enhancing guest amenities and services.
  • Ensures compliance with health regulations related to lodging and food services.
  • Monitors inventory levels and coordinates reordering as necessary.
  • Engages with vendors to negotiate terms and manage supply deliveries.
  • Purchases merchandise and researches new products to enhance guest appeal.
  • Leads a team of direct reports, providing direction and performance management.
  • Participates in leadership meetings to share updates and insights.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.
  • Management experience with budget oversight and vendor relations.
  • Experience in launching new lodging or dining venues is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze and present information effectively.
  • Knowledge of health department regulations related to hospitality.
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Outgoing personality with a commitment to guest service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform manual tasks as needed.
