Position Summary
PACCAR's Zero Emissions division is dedicated to pioneering technologies such as battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell electric, and advanced vehicle concepts aimed at eradicating harmful emissions in the heavy and medium-duty transportation sectors. Our objective is to develop the finest zero-emissions products for our clientele and communities. The PACCAR Zero Emissions Powertrain division is focused on creating new electrified components to support applications in the global product lines under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF, and Leyland brands.

This Senior Engineering position will oversee and maintain responsibility for the high-voltage battery thermal development and packaging for both current and future battery systems.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in thermal systems for zero-emissions vehicles and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across various business units.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and supplier partners to innovate industry-leading technologies for battery thermal management.
- Define and assess various thermal management technologies to enhance system designs.

- Direct thermal engineering analysis and designs to facilitate the expansion of EV applications into new market segments as customers embrace these technologies.

- Promote innovation through effective collaboration, personal initiative, and motivating team members.
- Regularly communicate results and recommendations to key stakeholders and facilitate technical meetings.
- Oversee and assist in rapid troubleshooting and problem resolution related to the battery system's scope of responsibility.
- Work closely with PACCAR's purchasing and quality teams to identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers.
- Employ a standardized phase/gate product creation process to deliver high-quality engineering designs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Up to 20% travel (domestic and international).
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics required; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including 5 years in electrical powertrain systems.
- Proven technical knowledge and hands-on experience in battery development for automotive applications, actively leading projects in this domain.
- Extensive experience in supporting the design of high-voltage battery thermal systems and managing suppliers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, actively engaging with stakeholders.
- A commitment to personal and professional growth, readiness to learn and apply new processes and techniques, and a resourceful problem-solving approach.
