We are currently seeking a part-time Neurosurgery Support Coordinator to enhance our exceptional Orthopedic team. This role involves overseeing authorization lists and coordinating ancillary appointments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational abilities, a proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative spirit. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care are essential, along with the capacity to work closely with both patients and healthcare providers. This position is primarily based in our Vancouver location, with potential for a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for scheduling ancillary services. Maintain updated lists and coordinate appointments.
  • Oversee clinical workflow utilizing task management.
  • Stay informed on OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Uphold a high level of confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and committees as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Medical Certification is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a medical office or call center environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls and typing efficiently.
  • Capability to handle challenging and stressful situations effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of business office procedures.
  • Proficient in grammar, spelling, and punctuation for effective communication of patient information.
  • Competence in operating computers and photocopy machines.
  • Ability to answer phones in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, staff, and the public.
