Job Overview

Position Summary

PeaceHealth is in search of a dedicated Radiology Administrative Specialist for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable role. The compensation for this position is $27.15, with the final salary determined by various factors such as education, experience, and applicable agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a range of administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the department. This includes reception duties, appointment scheduling, file management, and general office tasks. Collaborate with staff, physicians, and other departments to address imaging service requirements.
  • Act as the primary communication hub for the department by managing incoming calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Ensure timely and professional greeting of patients, family members, guests, colleagues, and physicians upon arrival.
  • Facilitate outpatient appointments and organize necessary documentation for patient examinations.
  • Schedule various outpatient appointments in accordance with established protocols, utilizing available resources to verify pre-authorization and medical necessity.
  • Review and confirm the accuracy of patient information, notifying relevant parties to rectify any discrepancies.
  • Maintain an organized filing system, retrieving and updating files as needed, and providing copies of reports and images upon request.
  • Coordinate daily schedules, outpatient orders, lab results, and related materials. Confirm next-day orders by reviewing documentation and contacting patients for reminders.
  • Provide patients with necessary information and instructions during the scheduling of examinations.
Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
  • Knowledge of PACS/RIS systems is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment such as telephones, copiers, and computers.
