Role Overview

The Settlement Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely validation and precise reconciliation of trade claims within Lamb Weston’s ERP system or trade promotion management tools, adhering to established sales contracts and departmental SOX controls. This position supports various business units and departments, focusing on strategic customer relationships to facilitate smooth processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and nurture relationships with cross-functional teams within Lamb Weston, serving as the primary contact for escalated claims issues.
  • Act as a bridge between business functions, customers, and Associate Settlement Analysts.
  • Process trade rebate claims, ensuring accuracy in manual entries and resolution of electronically submitted claim errors.
  • Verify trade/rebate claims in SAP TPM against valid contracts and promotions, ensuring proper reconciliation.
  • Assess, strategize, and enhance business processes to improve efficiency, quality, and output.
  • Conduct regular account reviews of settlement volumes with sales teams or external clients.
  • Lead initiatives to recover invalid rebate deductions through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist team members with inquiries and provide backup support for various duties, analytics, and projects as needed.
  • Make informed business decisions that are financially sound and compliant with SOX audit standards and organizational policies.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills and available resources to address complex customer issues escalated from associate analysts.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for monthly discussions with customers or sales teams regarding optimization, timely claims, trends, and other pertinent topics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit, collections, or trade deduction resolution is required.
  • Strong research, problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytics, with a capacity to quickly learn and utilize various systems.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating organization and foresight.
  • May require delivering presentations to sales teams, internal departments, and clients.
