Position: Aerospace Materials Supervisor
Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000

SUMMARY
The ideal candidate for the Aerospace Materials Supervisor role will possess the strategic insight necessary to drive corporate objectives at the site level, ensuring alignment with overarching supply chain strategies. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management of planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products in accordance with organizational needs and client specifications. A solid grasp of the supply chain process, manufacturing principles, organizational frameworks, and critical performance indicators is essential. Additionally, exceptional interpersonal skills are required to effectively collaborate across various levels of the organization, as well as with suppliers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and executes strategies and processes for effective procurement and material management.
  • Supervises the procurement team in ordering materials, supplies, and equipment from vendors to fulfill all client requirements, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and corporate standards.
  • Assesses, selects, and cultivates relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts regarding payment terms, goods, and services.
  • Ensures material availability, monitors supplier performance against required timelines, and manages raw material inventory turnover.
  • Reviews shortage reports and proactively communicates material shortages to relevant stakeholders to achieve On-Time Kit metrics and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) objectives.
  • Evaluates and enhances supplier performance in both supply chain initiatives and routine purchasing activities.
  • Coordinates corrective action initiatives between the site and suppliers.
  • Leads the Materials Department, which includes Buyers, Inventory Analysts, and Stockroom staff.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, with coursework in Business, Finance, or related fields.
  • 3-4 years of experience in procurement of electronic components and/or PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards).
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience, ideally within the electronic manufacturing services sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials management accounting processes, cost-benefit analysis, and inventory control systems.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, inventory control, and procurement practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Outlook software.
  • Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Mathematical proficiency with the ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
