Now Hiring - Aerospace Production Supervisor

Overview:

  • This position is accountable for ensuring production timelines and material standards are met while fostering ongoing enhancement initiatives.
  • The role requires achieving daily operational and safety objectives despite challenges by employing proactive leadership and innovative problem-solving.
  • The ideal candidate will engage effectively with all staff, both hourly and salaried, to cultivate a collaborative and interactive work environment.
  • In a manufacturing setting, the candidate must inspire all team members through a proactive strategy to creatively address equipment and production challenges, as well as to drive yield enhancements and cost-saving measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a work scheduling system that adeptly addresses priorities and daily demands to uphold satisfactory customer service levels.
  • Establish robust communication channels and feedback mechanisms throughout the manufacturing workflow to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues that negatively affect production.
  • Evaluate subordinate performance; mentor, guide, and enhance skills, knowledge, and capabilities in team members; recommend personnel actions when necessary.
  • Supervise a single shift of employees.
  • Collaborate closely with the Production Planner to ensure adherence to the production schedule and manage production modifications.
  • Submit employee time-off records to payroll on a daily basis.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production tasks to guarantee timely product completion.
  • Complete essential daily production documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Provide a safe working environment to prevent injuries and aim for zero lost-time incidents.
  • Maintain product quality standards consistently.
  • Oversee the training and development of all employees to ensure a comprehensive understanding of safety, quality, and production protocols.
  • Ensure departmental production targets are efficiently achieved.
  • Report on performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Engage employees in continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication of instructions and training to the assigned workforce, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient task completion.
  • Mathematical skills adequate for completing all reports, charts, and calculations.
  • Proven ability to comprehend and instruct others in technical manufacturing work instructions, safety, quality, and company policies.
  • Proficient in PC applications including email, report writing, basic data entry, and familiarity with Word and Excel; capable of learning manufacturing software.
  • Understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A four-year degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
