SUMMARY

The Aerospace Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting various aerospace initiatives by ensuring that all hardware is built, assembled, and tested according to stringent quality standards. The strength of our quality assurance team is vital to maintaining the exceptional service we are recognized for. We are looking for a dedicated Aerospace Quality Assurance Engineer to join our quality division. The ideal candidate will possess substantial industry experience in quality assurance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary starting at $65,000, with potential for higher compensation based on experience.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide quality assurance support for aerospace programs, ensuring compliance with quality requirements during the build, assembly, and testing phases.

• Plan and conduct audit activities, including pre-audit preparation, execution, evaluation, and follow-up recommendations.

• Collaborate with operational units to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans aimed at enhancing ISO compliance and quality outcomes.

• Present findings and recommendations to management regarding improvement initiatives and quality projects.

• Strategically plan and execute projects and team activities that drive statistical improvements in business results, particularly in meeting customer expectations.

• Review and approve changes to drawings, test procedures, manufacturing instructions, and purchase order instructions for external providers.

• Ensure that all engineering specifications are fulfilled prior to product acceptance.

• Generate and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, including the necessary mechanical and physical test documentation.

• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to uphold quality standards.

• Support reviews of manufacturing constraints and applicable testing protocols, ensuring timely and professional communication of all constraints.

• Analyze inspection and testing processes, equipment, and mechanisms; conduct quality control tests as necessary.

• Provide regular activity reports to management, highlighting critical activities and significant occurrences.

• Engage in investigations of product failures, material review board decisions, and corrective/preventive actions.

• May involve support in generating quality metrics.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

• Proficient in First Article Inspections (FAIs) and reporting in accordance with AS9102 standards.

• Strong understanding of GD&T, with the ability to interpret drawings and standards effectively.

• Experience in Supply Chain or Quality Engineering is preferred.

• Knowledge of quality systems and demonstrated use of standard problem-solving tools, troubleshooting techniques, and root cause analysis.

• Capability to perform floor support functions and make informed quality decisions.

• Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATION

• Quality or statistical certifications (e.g., ASQ, Six Sigma, Lean) are advantageous.

• Professional auditing experience is preferred, along with quality certification or RAB certification.
