Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Specialist is tasked with conducting thorough evaluations of incoming materials, ongoing processes, and completed products in accordance with established methods, protocols, and standards. This position collaborates with various levels of production management to ensure that all finished products comply with necessary quality benchmarks.

This role will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Shift: 1st Shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the organization.
  • Monitor non-conformance issues and collaborate with supervisors to guarantee that corrective measures are executed and maintained.
  • Work closely with the production team to address and rectify identified nonconformities.
  • Serve as a team leader, communicating effectively and assisting in the training of new Quality Inspectors.
  • Propose and assist in the implementation of strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
  • Generate Non-Conforming Materials Reports (NCMRs) as necessary.
  • Identify specific categories of non-conformance related to documentation.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop standard guidelines for quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP guidelines among all employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Exhibit problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Possess excellent communication abilities.
  • Assist the Supervisor with departmental output reports and presentations.
  • Previous experience in the consumer products sector (food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals) is highly desirable.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, and thermometers.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, as well as Google Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
