Achilles USA is seeking a meticulous Product Development Engineer to enhance our innovative team. This role involves close collaboration with the sales division to formulate new products, assess existing formulas for cost efficiency, and design solutions that cater to client specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, thrive in a team-oriented environment, and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate new products to align with customer and operational needs following established protocols, and perform necessary validation tests (such as heat stability and weathering assessments).
  • Generate new product specifications through Design and Test Requests, ensuring optimal formula selection, packaging, and cost analysis.
  • Maintain customer specifications within the Achilles Information Management System (AIMS).
  • Develop and update setup guides for assigned production lines.
  • Evaluate new raw materials and provide technical reports based on testing and observations.
  • Support Quality and Production teams in investigating non-conforming materials and addressing customer complaints.
  • Assign used compound codes to formulations to minimize scrap inventory.
  • Review and approve work orders.
  • Conduct color matching for customer samples and Pantone references.
  • Provide requested samples (including retains and roll mill samples).
  • Utilize the Achilles Request System for managing Design and Sales Requests.
  • Establish and maintain color standards in Data Color systems.
  • Assist Senior Development Engineers with priority projects, including part creation and internal testing setups.
  • Address regulatory inquiries and stay updated on significant regulatory changes.
  • Offer Sales team with cost estimations and production capabilities for new product requests.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers through meetings and industry events.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing as required.
  • Undertake various other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing engineering is preferred but not mandatory for all levels.
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, computer proficiency, mathematical skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Work Environment: Combination of office, factory, and laboratory settings. Some travel may be required.
