Position Overview:

As a Civil Facilities Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the infrastructure that supports our manufacturing and aircraft production activities. Your collaboration with various engineering disciplines, maintenance crews, and operational teams will be essential in assessing environmental effects, underground utility frameworks, road systems, and aircraft movement areas. Your input will be vital for long-term maintenance strategies to guarantee the efficient operation of the facilities and the aircraft programs we back.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine moderately complex designs, finalize designs, estimate costs, and provide maintenance assistance for the civil and structural aspects of buildings, equipment setups, utility networks, and grounds.
  • Facilitate the integration of activities among multiple engineering disciplines, external consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure civil and structural designs meet customer specifications, building codes, and relevant regulations by applying knowledge of construction methodologies, practices, and materials.
  • Maintain the accuracy of drawing archives by reviewing contractor modifications and identifying discrepancies to comply with regulatory standards and facility protocols.
  • Support construction initiatives by advising on vendor selection, reviewing contractor bids, liaising with regulatory agencies, and monitoring project advancement and vendor performance.
  • Prepare and present project information to ensure adherence to applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements, aligning with project goals.
  • Produce and/or procure detailed design documentation, utilizing appropriate resources to generate project documents in line with project specifications.
  • Translate customer needs into design alternatives, identifying suitable materials, equipment, and services through engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Update design standards and site-specific operational procedures to establish consistent practices.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning decisions with limited supervision, managing and executing projects effectively.
  • Analyze current conditions and future needs; gather data and collaborate with customers to identify and evaluate alternatives and impacts.
  • Collect customer requirements for inclusion in conceptual designs.
  • Engage in code research and develop initial project timelines to define project scope.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate project management information, assisting in the documentation and formulation of contract scope.
  • Interpret and analyze relevant regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances concerning project requirements.
  • Propose project alternatives to ensure compliance and provide necessary support to secure permits.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, facilities management, maintenance, and/or project management.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and construction specifications.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing AutoCAD or similar design software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying engineering principles and techniques to provide technical solutions to complex challenges while adhering to local and federal regulations.
  • Experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong ability to interact and collaborate frequently with inter-organizational personnel, including project managers, construction managers, maintenance staff, and contractors.
