+ Role Summary

We are looking for a Government Engagement Associate to join our Government Engagement and Strategy team. This team is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with government stakeholders at federal, state, and local levels, as well as executing daily operations for MxD's government initiatives that are vital to our mission. Key responsibilities include responding to government inquiries, supporting both virtual and in-person events, conducting policy research, and developing processes for effective implementation.

+ Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple internal and external requests, clearly articulating trade-offs for competing priorities, and escalating issues as necessary to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
  • Employ strong project and program management skills to coordinate project objectives, timelines, deliverables, team accountability, and communication.
  • Conduct research and succinctly summarize government positions, priorities, and policy goals related to digital manufacturing, cybersecurity, and workforce development.
  • Utilize CRM tools and data to support and monitor government engagement and project progress.
  • Coordinate grant development efforts with key internal and external partners.
  • Facilitate government stakeholder meetings, including agenda preparation and follow-up actions in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Assist with various organizational initiatives and responsibilities as needed.

+ Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Government Relations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in program management, project coordination, or government engagement.
  • Ability to work onsite at least three days a week to support member events and attend team meetings.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate across departments.
  • Experience in planning both in-person and virtual events.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to synthesize information into clear and concise documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software (e.g., HubSpot), and familiarity with project management tools.
  • A desire to thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders and government officials.
