Job Overview

Cortex Consultants LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Expansion Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our client's data governance strategy, framework, and platform to drive efficiency and value realization in the overall data value chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Governance Enablement
    • Drive engagement from business and technology partners applying the data governance framework and platform capabilities to ensure that the client achieves a return on its investment.
    • Responsible for articulating the overall data governance storytelling/business case to leadership and aligning the messaging to the specific business/technical/market strategy.
    • Develop a pipeline for data governance use cases and ideas coordinating across the business and technical teams to understand their needs with a focus on the customer outcome or the desired 'why'. Support data governance operations and platform teams to prioritize capabilities and identify the 'what' and the 'how' to deliver on the use case.
    • Oversee the prioritization, planning, delivery, and adoption of use cases ensuring business requirements are met and the business value is realized.
  • Ongoing Operations
    • Work with business stakeholders to drive strong data ownership, enable adoption and governance of the platform.
    • Coordinate with the data domain councils and business leadership to ensure we are prioritizing key initiatives, new capabilities and supporting meaningful business outcomes.
    • Monitor and support the adoption of the governance framework by business and technical teams, as well as data owners.
    • Drive curation, quality and visibility of the data in the platform.
    • Document and implement current workflows, data policies, standards, and procedures for both legacy and new data applications.
    • Support the design and curate data dictionaries based on stakeholder requirements.
    • Work with teams to ensure complete data lineage is captured and managed for our data of record.
    • Perform data quality audits, identify data collection issues, suggest improvements, and help implement fixes.
    • Support data governance program adoption and effectiveness across the enterprise, aiding with program metrics and monitoring, program scoping and resource requirements, communication, collaboration, and ideation on improving program efforts.
    • Provide user training, education, and documentation to support adoption of consistent governance best practices.
