KEY RESPONSIBILITIES...

We are in search of a highly driven Grants Program Coordinator to manage the operations of our organization's grant portfolio. The Grants Program Coordinator will be instrumental in overseeing the grant lifecycle, including the writing of grant proposals.

This role is a vital member of the Workforce and Strategic Development team, contributing to the expansion of Newport Mental Health's grant portfolio. Furthermore, this position will facilitate project oversight and leadership across various internal departments to ensure that grant projects and objectives are achieved, collaborating closely with the Development and Marketing team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal assessments of organizational needs, gather program data, and evaluate the feasibility of securing external funding for project and program proposals.
  • Research and identify potential funding sources through literature review, listservs, meetings, and correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain an internal grant application process to ensure efficient grant-seeking activities.
  • Oversee a grant management system for funded grants, including tracking reporting deadlines, budget compliance, and other grant obligations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive repository of information on funding sources, grant writing, and relevant community and state data pertaining to our programs and services.
  • Collaborate with funding personnel to gather insights for projects and fulfill data and information requests.
  • Coordinate, develop, and manage grant applications from initial concept to submission, working closely with staff throughout all stages.
  • Handle multiple projects and priorities, including searching for funding opportunities, writing proposals, managing existing grants, reporting to stakeholders, and contributing to special initiatives.
  • Engage actively in regular supervision sessions, demonstrating openness to feedback and integrating recommendations into the execution of responsibilities as the Grants Program Coordinator.
  • Identify and advocate for specific projects related to grant goals and outcomes, in collaboration with team colleagues and senior management.
  • Serve as the primary grant writer for proposals and coordinate submission processes with the support of the Grant Specialist.
  • Prepare and manage correspondence, presentations, and project documentation related to grants.
  • Provide support and follow-up on communications, including scheduling, with project officers.
  • Seek and embrace opportunities to represent Newport Mental Health at local and regional levels with professionalism in your area of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS...

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Social Entrepreneurship.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in grant writing, development, or corporate and foundation giving programs, along with experience in applying for, acquiring, and managing a portfolio of grants.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare or related industries is preferred.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to listen actively; a flexible writing style that can adapt content to various audiences and channels is essential.
  • Strong quantitative skills and an understanding of organizational economics.
  • Ability to cultivate strong interpersonal relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • A commitment to professional development and evidence-based practices is preferred.
