Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Office Representative to join our team. As a Medical Office Representative, you will be responsible for providing administrative, front desk, and billing duties to ensure excellent quality of care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our patients and our teammates, understanding demographics and addressing patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and obtain prior authorization and referrals as needed.
- Financial Transactions: Collect deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance, balance the cash drawer, and reconcile end-of-day transactions.
- Scheduling and Data Entry: Schedule appointments, enter patient data, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Communication: Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and communicate with patients and staff in a professional and respectful manner.
- Confidentiality and HIPAA Compliance: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Education: Associate's degree or 2 years' experience in a healthcare administration setting.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and Google Chrome/Firefox.
- Coding and Typing: Knowledge of CPT/ICD 10 coding and 40 WPM typing speed.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact with patients, co-workers, and supervisors in a professional and respectful manner.
- Reliability and Flexibility: Reliable transportation and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
